Blackpark in the western outskirts of Inverness, just beyond Craig Phadrig hill-fort.
This was her father's address when he married her mother and where she lived with her mother and step-father after her widowed mother re-married. The
1901 census shows them living at Wester Black Park Farm which is
shown on the following map of 1903.
Margaret died at
68 Balloan Road, Inverness.
John and Margaret were married at Easter Moy, Urray which is also given as John's residence. Easter Moy is a few miles west of Maryburgh. Modern map
here and 1876 map
here. The 1876 map shows the farm steading (which still exists) and which
may have included farm servant accommodation. Alternatively, there are a pair of semi-detached cottages shown to the west which may be relevant. The
monument (Mon) at Easter Moy
marks the spot where Lady Caroline MacKenzie was accidentally killed by her sister, as predicted by the Brahan Seer. Click
