Notes: Avoch parish records show Colin Fraser of Kirkton (Avoch) having his son William baptised on 6th Nov 1777. Colin Fraser of Kirkton is also recorded as having a son William baptised on 6th Feb 1775. Presumably this child died and another son was given the same name? The marriage record states that William Fraser is a farm servant at "Flowerburn". Modern map shows Flowerburn Mains (farm) and Flowerburn House (land-owner?) a short distance to the north of Rosemarkie on the Black Isle. Place of death is given as "Backhill of Belmongy". This presumably refers to the locality of Easter and Wester Balmungie up near Flowerburn House.
